Logan

I have been watching X-Men films ever since the first one was released in 2000. It did get a little complicated when they did a sort of reboot with X-Men: First Class but they pulled that right in X-Men: Days of future past. Or they at least explained some things.  Then a few years back they decided to start a Wolverine: Origin line and well, I do love Hugh Jackman in this role thus I watched the films and each one of them is good (even if they are spinoffs). This one, Logan, is the last in the Wolverine saga, and of course, I’m curious to see how they were going to end the saga.

Ghostbusters

This is another film I couldn’t see last summer due to circumstances. A lot of people have been saying that it isn’t good. They always say “Why remake a perfectly good film with women”? I decided that I wouldn’t let all the opinions colour mine and just watched it on a quiet Saturday evening.

15 years Biffy Clyro

BeFunky Collage.jpg

When I started this post, way back in 2016, I hadn’t seen the band perform live yet. In the meantime, I went to 2 concerts and 1 festival where they were performing. They really throw themselves on stage and that energy can be felt in the audience. For me personally, the first song I ever heard was “Who’s got a match” from the album “Puzzle” because it was being played on BBC Radio 1 at the time. This started my discovery and following of Biffy Clyro. When looking at the pictures from way back comparing their look till now they really started to look like a rock band. This might be because the older pictures look like 15year old selfies and not professional at all.

Hamlet – Almeida, London

hamlet_1470x690_version_3

For my birthday, I went to see Hamlet in London, starring Andrew Scott. This is the fifth time that I see this play and the fourth different production. I think this is “my Shakespeare play” because I have seen it so many times. There are other of his plays I’ve seen but for an unexplainable reason, I keep going back to this tragic story.  I had been waiting patiently to get tickets, and at the moment they were released I had multiple sessions open to get tickets that would be on my birthday.  The main reason for me to get tickets is that Andrew Scott is portraying the tragic Dane and after seeing him in Sherlock I think he will do this brilliantly.

Biffy Clyro – Ancienne Belgique, Brussels

IMG_20170210_230042_417.jpg

After seeing Biffy Clyro at Pukkelpop last summer, I read that they would be performing in Belgium later in the year. Well, originally it would have been on November 12th and that was canceled due to logistical issues. For me, November 12th wouldn’t have worked anyway since I was going to London that weekend. So at that time, I ordered my tickets to see them in Luxembourg on November 5th and that was what it was going to be.

Then in September, they announced their European tour for February and they were coming to Brussels. So I got tickets and made up for not having seen them before August in half a year’s time with 3 concerts (2 real concerts + 1 festival one).

Passengers

BeFunky Collage.jpg

When I saw the trailer way back when it was released, I added this film to my watch list of 2016. What could go wrong with a film containing Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence. Those were the only people, we see in the trailer, that are on the ship.

When the release came closer and closer, and the posters arrived in the cinema it became more and more a question of what goes wrong as the poster just says they wake up but why?

Cause this was a question for me to find out I went to see it in the week of release as I had some time off during the holidays

Assassin’s Creed

BeFunky Collage.jpg

As I am not a big gamer, you might think I wouldn’t watch this film. However, I have become fond of acting done my Michael Fassbender in the last few year that I wanted to see if he could do this and if the story was interesting enough for someone like me not knowing the history of the game. All I know is that the game makers have been applaud in the past for their historical correct locations, so would this be incorporated here.

Game adaptations to film often have this bad reputation as they don’t gave the gamers the same feel as they had in playing. But hey, as I am not a gamer I did like “Prince of Persia” in the past and was told by those who played the game it was “not all that”. Let’s see what happens here…
