Love, Simon

A few months ago, I bought the book Simon vs the Homo sapiens agenda. I already knew it would be an adaption at that time and already said I’d make sure to finish the book before the film was released. About a month before the film would be released in Belgium I finished the book and have high hopes for the adaptation. As the film has been released in America long before Belgium and all the positive news I read about the American Gay acting community encouraging people to see the film by renting a whole cinema room so that everyone could see it even for free, my hopes for the film grew and grew. I had the opportunity to see it during the Belgian premiere.

Deadpool 2

In the end credits of the first Deadpool film, there was already a little hint to the second film. Deadpool and Cable. As I had enjoyed the first one immensely (I went to see it on Valentine ’s Day with some friends, who says there needs to be a significant other), I now want to see if they can keep up the humor and if the dreaded sequel curse doesn’t affect Deadpool.

Avengers: Infinity War

Ten years of Marvel superhero films has to cumulate to something. This film is what it’s all been building up to. Who would have thought that Iron Man would start all this? After becoming a high grossing company and being under the wings of Disney, what’s next? Earlier this year, Black Panther already had great box-office numbers and I wonder if this film can go even higher. From the trailer and the poster, I assume that every one of the heroes from the past ten years will be in this film. Will they win or lose? What will happen? I’m very curious to see the film!

Black Panther

I’ve heard many good things about this film already, like the black community is a big fan.  On the poster, there are only 2 Caucasian actors (Andy Serkis & Martin Freeman). The story is supposedly taking place in Wakanda (a fictitious land somewhere in Africa) and it’s a good thing then that they chose for a black cast, as it wouldn’t be logical otherwise. When I saw the trailer, I was already surprised with the fact that all the people in Wakanda are very kickass, it’s not just the prince (black panther). It might just be that they are warrior people, this I still need to discover when I see the film.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

The latest installment of the Star Wars saga. After being introduced to the new array of characters in the seventh episode, I now want to know how the characters are developed more, if expected storylines will happen, is Kylo Ren really evil or only posing. Of course, the question on everyone’s lips is “Luke Skywalker?”. As we only saw Mark Hamill at the end of the previous episode and he didn’t have any lines, we want to know more.

Murder on the Orient Express

I had put this film on my to see film ever since I saw the announcement of Kenneth Branagh making it.  Knowing Branagh, I have high hopes since he really makes good films and can actually act but this is a harder topic since everyone knows Hercule Poirot and identifies the character with the actor David Suchet. I was really wondering if Kenneth Branagh, who would be taking the role of the Belgian detective, would do a good job.

Thor: Ragnarok

Yet another installment in the Marvel Universe and how do I enjoy watching these films. We finally get to know what Thor and the Hulk were up to during Captain America: Civil War.  I’ve seen the trailer for this film and it’s making me ask questions like: “Where is that Arena”, “how can she break Mjolnir”, “Who is Jeff Goldblum playing”, “Loki” and “what will the complete soundtrack be”.
