Guardians of the Galaxy Vol2

BeFunky Collage.jpg

I fell in love with the story of Peter Quill the moment I saw the first Guardians of the Galaxy film.  Not only with Peter (Starlord) but also the other characters and the setting future but not really with music from the eighties.  The hope is that the story goes further and that this doesn’t become a lame sequel. Hopes are very high on that front since I have not really seen a bad Marvel sequel ever since I started watching.

After having seen what happens to Groot at the end of the previous film, I am also wondering how it will work out for him here. They have been teasing a lot of Groot stuff since I think he is one of the universal favorites of the film.

Beauty and the Beast

It was just not possible for me to not see this film. I grew up on Disney animation films and Beauty and the Beast has always been a favourite. Not my absolute favourite of all the animation films they’ve made, but then again they made a lot of them.

When I heard that they were going to make a live-action version of it, I was intrigued in which scenes would change immensely. The trailer and teasers before the release were exact scenes that I knew from the animated version. I was fearing that those were the only ones and that they were hooking us, the people who watched as a kid.

Logan

I have been watching X-Men films ever since the first one was released in 2000. It did get a little complicated when they did a sort of reboot with X-Men: First Class but they pulled that right in X-Men: Days of future past. Or they at least explained some things.  Then a few years back they decided to start a Wolverine: Origin line and well, I do love Hugh Jackman in this role thus I watched the films and each one of them is good (even if they are spinoffs). This one, Logan, is the last in the Wolverine saga, and of course, I’m curious to see how they were going to end the saga.

Ghostbusters

This is another film I couldn’t see last summer due to circumstances. A lot of people have been saying that it isn’t good. They always say “Why remake a perfectly good film with women”? I decided that I wouldn’t let all the opinions colour mine and just watched it on a quiet Saturday evening.

Passengers

BeFunky Collage.jpg

When I saw the trailer way back when it was released, I added this film to my watch list of 2016. What could go wrong with a film containing Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence. Those were the only people, we see in the trailer, that are on the ship.

When the release came closer and closer, and the posters arrived in the cinema it became more and more a question of what goes wrong as the poster just says they wake up but why?

Cause this was a question for me to find out I went to see it in the week of release as I had some time off during the holidays

Assassin’s Creed

BeFunky Collage.jpg

As I am not a big gamer, you might think I wouldn’t watch this film. However, I have become fond of acting done my Michael Fassbender in the last few year that I wanted to see if he could do this and if the story was interesting enough for someone like me not knowing the history of the game. All I know is that the game makers have been applaud in the past for their historical correct locations, so would this be incorporated here.

Game adaptations to film often have this bad reputation as they don’t gave the gamers the same feel as they had in playing. But hey, as I am not a gamer I did like “Prince of Persia” in the past and was told by those who played the game it was “not all that”. Let’s see what happens here…

Rogue One: A Star Wars story

BeFunky Collage.jpg

After having bitten by the Star Wars bug again last year when seeing the Force Awakens, I just had to see this “Star Wars story”. I found out that people were confusing the setting of the film constantly and I jut kept saying it’s number 3.5 (not to confuse them more in saying it’s the sequel to the prequels). For one reason or another people kept asking me when it was releasing here in Belgium (my answer December 14th but I’m going to see it on December 17th).  Plans made and tickets bought, matinee viewing here I come!

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

After having devoured the Harry Potter books and the religiously having watched the films, every time there was a comic relief novella linked to the series was a new high for a Harry Potter fan. I did wonder how the book “Fantastic Beasts and where to find them” could be turned in to a film since it is just the description of the beasts themselves and I really didn’t have a feel of who New Scamander should be or how he should be played.

Another before the film moment this year was the moment Ilvermorny, the American school was announced and you could get sorted into the houses on Pottermore. Of course, I did the test and am very happy in being in the Thunderbird house.
