Belgian Whovians 1st meet of 2016 – Ghent

The first meet of the Belgian Whovians was already planned at the end of January. As there were a lot of people new to the group who were going to join the meet, I couldn’t not go and meet these new people.

Now all plans of meeting new people are set, but once it was over I kind of noticed that I spend more time with the people I already knew then with new people. I didn’t really make new friends.

The schedule of the meet was fully planned with visits to comic book stores and other geeky stores, but because of the rain and cold some of us decides to already to go down to the last stop of the schedule and wait for the rest of the group to get there.

First meet of the year under our belt, up to the next! I hope other people who joined the group (approximately 50 people) had fun! I can say I did!

Small LEGO fair

There was a first time ever Lego fair in the next town over, I had time, so I went to see what they had to offer and what lego builders in Belgium are making.  The Overpelt LEGO Builders club showcased their builds and designs.

I loved seeing the different Lego’s and I talked to the people of the showcased items. They were open and loved talking about their hobby, some even said that for some of the custom builds they could tell you were to get the plans to make them yourself.

I have gathered some ideas of custom builds that I would like but also for box sets that I want or want to build.

10 years Arctic Monkeys

It’s been 10 years since the album “Whatever people say I am, that’s what I’m not” from Arctic Monkeys was released. I have loved their music practically from the start – and am very lucky to have seen them a few times on stage at festivals. I’ve loved seeing them grow up and still remember that shy-ish singer at the front of the group (that would be Alex), and love how he has re-invented himself to the rockabilly look he has now.

With now 5 albums under their belt – and some side projects – I would like to share with you, my favorite lyrics from each album.

Pop=Art – Pop-up exhibition from Stubru

Because we celebrate 60 years of pop music this year, Studio Brussel decided to take a song from each year, get a line out of that song and make a matching print to go with it.  In the spirit of the time, it was a pop-up show in a museum not far from where I live.

It’s nice to see that many, famous songs hanging on the walls. I was guessing with each quote from a song which song it was before I even looked at title and performer next to the print.

The song they chose for my birth year was “Every breath you take” from the Police and for having discovered the police myself somewhere in the 90s, I am very happy that this was the song they chose.

Sherlock – The Abominable Bride

The long awaited Sherlock special, Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss have been teasing us, fans, with pictures of this special ever since they were recording it. BBC wasn’t even better showing the first picture approximately a year ago. We all saw the moustache on John and the sleeked back hair – the moustache yelling oh no once again the moustache is back.

I went to see the screening of the episode in the cinema with my fellow sherlock fan friends. In the cinema there was a little clip before the show in which Steven Moffat gives us the tour of the Victorian rooms of Sherlock and after the show there was Mark Gatiss interviewing the different actors on the show about their Sherlock experiences.

The following is the story, so of course SPOILERS!
